Sustainability

At Maison Mûrier we are always looking for ways to care for and protect the environment and give back to the communities we are a part of. This approach is highly important to us and to how we run our guest house.
We hope to demonstrate to others that you can succeed as a business in an environmentally correct way.

Here are some of the ways we are working towards being a greener and more socially responsible business…

  • We have installed a new solar water heating system.
  • We recycle glass, cardboard, paper and plastic.
  • Straws used are made from paper.
  • We have removed all plastic cotton buds and their plastic wrapping from our bathrooms replacing them with paper and organic cotton ones.
  • We recycle all coffee grounds, using them to fertilise plants in our garden.
  • All toiletries in our bathrooms are environmentally friendly and where possible organic.
  • Where possible we use environmentally friendly cleaning products and materials.
  • Old bedlinen and towels are recycled.
  • Any furniture or household items we do not use are donated to local charities.
  • We use as many LED bulbs as possible, we  do use a few decorative filament bulbs and where possible these are also LED.
  • We use reclaimed and natural building materials where possible.
  • We use many antique furnishings and upcycle furniture where possible to give the pieces a second life!
